Dear Supporters,
We have some additional information to share with you regarding the video from the last issue of Operation PAL News. In case you missed it, we mentioned that Operation PAL Marine, Marcus, played wheelchair basketball at the White House. We were later informed that another of our Operation PAL Marines, LCpl Ed, was also on the team! Watch the video and catch glimpses of him in yellow jersey #12. Click here!
LCpl Ed's Mom said she is grateful for all the sports opportunities he's had while being in rehab at the hospital. These outings build confidence as these warriors deal with tough recoveries. Mom also wants YOU to know your cards and support are dear to their hearts; what you do by writing to the wounded makes a big difference in many lives.
She has requested LCpl Ed be taken off the list so others can feel the same amount of support they have. We wish you luck, Ed, and continued strength for the rest of your recovery.

I just wrote someone and now he's been taken off the list - What happens to my card?

Not to worry. When a name is removed from the Operation PAL list, we know some cards and letters will be 'in transit' for a few weeks.
Depending on the timing, we tell the Marine to expect one or two more batches of cards and letters. We process 'straggler' cards so any good wishes you have sent to that Marine will be delivered - Your good wishes won't expire!
By the way, when we get updates on our former Operation PAL participants, we post them. Even though they no longer receive cards, cruise through the 'Inactive' names once in a while and look for current dates. You'd know, for example, that Devin is quite the dancer as reported at a wedding reception this year. And former Operation PAL Marines, John and Josef, recently participated in the Marine Corps Marathon!
We know you want to hear how these Marines are doing even if you're no longer writing them and we share updates whenever we can.
