Information and Updates for LCpl.  Arron with 3/7 Lima Co.
Last Update: 6/9/2010             << Back to list

Operation PAL Participant Arron was in Iraq when he was diagnosed with bone cancer. He's been flown to the States and is now undergoing aggressive treatment. Along with chemo and radiation, he's had surgery to remove part of the bone in his arm. They've used bone from his hip and leg to replace it. He's aleady up and around and has plans for the future, including getting married in November.
Our volunteer said he is excited to know that cards and letters will be coming so let's load him up with virtual hugs and good wishes.

Update 11/11/2009: We have heard from our volunteer that Arron is doing really well and is walking without his cane. He recently underwent aggressive chemo and radiation treatment and has a great appetite, especially enjoying chicken and dumplings and Halloween cake!! Please continue to load up Arron and his fiancee with your best wishes for them and for his strong recovery.

Update 1/18/2010: Our volunteer states Arron was able to go home for the holidays and spend some time with his family and fiancee. Getting home for the holidays provided him and his family a great lift. Currently, he is taking another round of aggressive chemo treatments. Your cards and letters of support lift his spirits, so please let him know you care and send some best wishes his way. Pray for Arron's continued healing and strength.

Update 1/23/2010: We've heard that Arron and his fiancee have set a date in June for their wedding. Arron is going through some aggressive chemo treatment but will hopefully be completely done with all treatments February 16 or 18. We are all praying they will tell him he is cancer free at that time. Please keep Arron lifted up in prayer, for complete healing, and for comfort and strength while he is going through these chemo treatments.

Update 3/11/2010 OperationPAL Newsletter info: "One Wounded Warrior who is currently in Lori's heart is LCpl Arron. He really looks forward to the PHFS (Purple Heart Family Support) dinners, and has continued coming to them even though he is undergoing aggressive chemo treatments. Through everything, LCpl Arron has continued to set goals and fight what the chemo does to him. One of the goals he is excited about is marrying his fiance Michelle sometime this summer."

Update: 3/21/2010 Our volunteer said he's doing a lot better since he finished chemo. He had some swelling in his arm which can happen from the chemo and they had to put a tight stocking on it to stop the fluid buildup. He has more energy and now is just waiting to hear if he is in remission.....hopefully by Easter. Wouldn't that be an answer to prayer!?

Update: 6/9/2010 Our volunteer says Arron is doing great. His back is healing from fractures when he fell snow skiing a little while back. (What?! Does ANYTHING keep these guys down?!) Bones are not in the best condition from the aggressive chemo. He is wearing his back brace and still walking with a cane but he really looks great. His hair is growing back (he has nice blonde hair) and he will be married very soon. He surprised Michelle last Saturday by getting leave a little early so they are off now to focus on the wedding.
We are so happy for them and will report again when they return at the end of June.
.....And saving the best for last!?!? Arron is officially in remission. Happy tears are flowing here, so folks keep up the good work of praying that this Marine stays in remission. He obviously has a LOT of living to do!
